This idea, proposed by staff writer Lisa Anderson as a semi-joke, has now become something more tangible.

So far, we've got tentative pieces on Francis Bacon, Cillian Murphy, Gavin Friday/Virgin Prunes, and Dublin.

This will be for our Jan/Feb 2010 issue.

We are looking for articles on any Irish artists (writers, poets, filmmakers, actors, musicians, etc.) such as The Pogues, U2, James Joyce, Patrick McCabe, Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, The Commitments, the films of Neil Jordan, Irish films in general...

If you are interested, please contact me at editor@popshifter.com. The deadline for submissions is January 8 but please send your ideas as soon as possible!

Thanks!
